All children must safely seated in the correct child car seat for the size and age. The car seat must be approved and securely fitted. A properly installed child car seat will make it less likely for a child to be injured or killed in a car crash.
The general rules are:
Up to 6 months – Approved rear facing child car seat.
6 months to 4 years – Approved rear or forward facing child car seat.
4+ years – Approved forward facing child car seat or booster seat.
145 cm or taller – Suggested minimum height to use adult lap-sash seatbelt.
